Audit of CARES Act Funding

    Hi all --

I was wondering if anyone has developed - and is willing to share - audit steps around CARES Act Funding.  We've done some work on the front end, in terms of reviewing data used to support the amount of funding received.  But there are also terms and conditions on what/how funds are used, the accounting for these expenditures, and an audit trail that could be reviewed.

Has anyone been developed work in these areas?  There's a significant amount of funding flowing to systems and based on the amount of funding and the visibility of how funds are used, it seems to raise a risk.

Would be interested in how other audit organizations are looking at this, changes to their audit plan, and specific audit steps.

    Thanks.

We have a steering committee and meet weekly
We set up a tracking sheet for staff who normally don't work on COVID related activities ( PPE supplies, mask distribution, temperature checking)
We evaluate weekly against whatever new guidance is published and decide if those costs are still feasible
Methodology needs to be agreed upon as far as how you are going to calculate losses,
Finance has been on point for tracking
