Hi everyone, I recently went to the SCCE annual conference and tried to take the basic classes about compliance generally. The SCCE conference was extremely helpful and very impressive with respect to expertise and content.
I also studied the chapters on risk assessment, investigations, and the first couple of chapters on general compliance management, including the Federal Sentencing Guidelines in the Complete Compliance and Ethics Manual 2016. I still missed a couple but felt like the material at the conference as well as the manual were very good investments to prepare for the exam.
Good Luck!

HI, I failed by 4 points. I've already rescheduled to take the test since the information is fresh. I do believe career experience along with the Academy is ideal for preparation for the test.

Hi Kathy! I participated in the September Academy in Chicago. I would recommend the academy because I feel that the discussions and exercises were good practice for a thorough understanding of the material. It is also a great way to network and hear about what others are doing. I will be honest though, it does not fully prepare you for the exam. They will say over and over, "we do not teach to the exam." The questions on the exam are more about application - I would recommend that you prepare before the academy by reading through the Sentencing Guidelines, SOX, FCPA, Yates Memo, and read the Compliance 101 book. I would also recommend reading articles within previous SCCE publications that cover risk assessments and creating effective compliance and ethics programs. Many of the questions ask you to pick the "NEXT" step or "BEST" option. In my opinion, you have to know the material and be able to apply the concepts...not so much memorization. Good luck!

Hi - I'm thinking of attending the Chicago Academy that is taking place in April of next year. The brochure states that the exam is offered at the conclusion of the academy. Does anyone recommend taking the exam at the conclusion of the academy or should I allow myself some time to review the materials and notes? Thanks
