Hi there, I am brand new to CCEP prep and have experience mainly in IT compliance.  I was wondering if anyone can offer tips on prep and might be willing to chat via phone as well?

I look forward to getting acquainted!

    Best,

    Dave

Hi David, Welcome!  I'm also prepping for the CCEP exam so I'll be watching this thread closely & hope to hear from anyone with tips and experience!  I'm also watching for Caitlyn Tobey's next study group - it's terrific.  I'm attaching her one-page resource guide from the study group I attended last year.

    Hello Mona & Dave,

I am Bill.  Please message me and I can send you a link to my CCEP google drive.  These are the resources I used to pass the CCEP this past November. On the share drive, you will find videos from Coursera Compliance Program Modules, many resources I got from Caitlyn, and slides that I made for the CCEP Compliance 101 book, FSG, SOX, and GDPR.

Do a search and you will see my experience with the CCEP exam.  I wrote the post minutes after passing the exams while everything was still fresh in my mind.

    Hi David,

I passed the CCEP exam in early January.  So, the prep and overall experience is still fresh for me.  I am happy to schedule a call with you to talk through a few items.  As Mona mentioned, I highly recommend joining Cait Tobey's next study group.  It is worth the time investment.

Send me a an email if you want to chat.

I wonder if there's any value in some kind of informal study group?  I've been combing posts from this group for study tips and areas of focus...if there are enough people taking the test in the next couple of months maybe we can share take-aways from resources, tips we've learned from others, etc.  Would you be interested?

As others have said, let Cait Tobey know you are interested in the next study group if it is before you test.  It only takes an hour or so for 4 meetings, but a lot of good study ideas and references come from it. Another great resource is Bill Wong.  He has lots of posts and references on the various list groups.  You can search for him or Cait on the lists.  Another good idea is to look at the CHC and CHPC lists.  While they are mostly related to healthcare and HIPAA, the basics of compliance are the same.  Look for anything from Frank Ruelas, he is a wealth of compliance information.  Use the references an resources from Cait's list of resources.  I have attached her January 2020 Exam Resource List and Bill's PowerPoint on Compliance 101.

Lloyd thank you, these are great tips and resources!!  I did reach out to Caitlyn and unfortunately I just missed her last study group until well after I'm taking the test.  I did participate in one of her groups last year and it was great!   Being part of a group was so beneficial.

I will definitely take your advice - I've been reading Bill Wong's posts as well, and I do get a lot of value from his information and resources.

Thanks so much for your help!

So I was doing a little digging this weekend and I found some additional really great resources in the CHC Candidate group.  I know the test is different, but some of the study content is the same...for instance I found a great study test questions resource on the FSGs.  Here's how to find all the content:
    1. Go to the CHC Candidate group
    2. Click on the "Library" tab
    3. Change the view from "chronological" (the default view), to "Folder" by clicking on the icon that looks like an open folder near the top of the screen in the middle.
      1. This was LIFE-CHANGING for me, as it provides an alphabetized list of a TON of resources!!
    4. Look at the right-hand side for a list of resources!
By the way, this works for any group.  I found most of our resources in our group library as well.
    Hope that's helpful!
