  • 1.  Third Party Training Question -- Options to Internal LMS?

    I oversee compliance training and communications for a health care system and we are looking into assigning specific third party compliance training to our contingent workforce employees (CWE), A portion of these individuals have corporate emails/credentials that allow them to access our internal LMS.

    There are others, however, who do not -- but I still need to train them and be able to secure reports confirming course completion.

    Any suggestions? Anyone have to address this in their organization?

    I'm unaware of an external LMS platform that would allow for easy assignment of training courses and reporting features.
    And I don't want to find myself having to do an extensive amount of manual work -- gathering assignment lists, pulling reports that require a lot of filtering, etc.

    Hi John,

    Have you considered delivering training as a manager-led discussion instead of pushing it out through your LMS? Then you can simply ask the manager or contract manager to attest that they had the conversation with their employees--contingent and full-time.

    To accomplish this, you'll need to keep the training content concise and super relevant to the end-user (what exactly do you want them to do with no fluff), and provide talking points for the manager to cover the material, so it's easy for them.

    Hi John,

    We use Relias LMS for our training needs. We are a relatively small non-profit organization. The system allows us to assign trainings from their module library as well as create and add our own. There are tons of reports, you can monitor the status of the training, and you can send reminders to employees still needing to complete training. It's a pretty robust system, and relatively easy to use.
