Natalie Roehlk joined Symbius Medical in January, 2010. As Director of Compliance and Contracting, she oversees all compliance and contracting activities at the corporate level. She also serves as Symbius Medical’s HIPAA Privacy Officer, chairs Symbius Medical’s Corporate Compliance, Quality Assurance and Ethics Committee, and provides direct training to staff.
Natalie was previously with the Arizona Center for Disability Law for eleven years as an Advocate, Information & Referral Supervisor, and Coordinator of the Protection and Advocacy for Assistive Technology (PAAT) grant, working in the areas of healthcare and assistive technology, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), Arizonans With Disabilities Act (AzDA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504), the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), and the federal and state Fair Housing Acts (FHA). In her career, Natalie has obtained numerous settlements in civil rights cases, as well as favorable outcomes for her clients in all levels of appeal, including administrative hearings, to ensure clients receive the health care devices and services they need.
She serves on the boards of Happy Tails Service Dogs, the Arizona Medical Equipment Suppliers Association, Med University, the Jurisdiction D Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Group, and three Jurisdiction D DME Advisory Councils. She has provided numerous community outreach presentations to agencies such as the Brain Injury Association of Arizona, the Hearing Loss Association of America, and appeared as a speaker at the AzTAP Annual Assistive Technology Conferences. She obtained her education at Phoenix Community College and the Arizona Institute of Business and Technology. She also holds a CNA license, where she previously provided direct care to patients in inpatient care facilities.
