Mediation and dispute resolution designation

I was wondering if there was anyone out there that is aware of a position(s) available for a trained mediator or resolution specialist that is NOT affiliated with a specific hospital. I feel that the time has come for there to be a trained ethicist with clinical and financial training that will provide palatable solutions to both parties and not work in specific conjunction with a facility. This would allow for a higher level of autonomy for the mediator and the non-affiliation status would provide ethical structuring that is not provided by being a full-time employee. Does anyone have any opinions on this subject? It is of great interest to me. I strongly feel that the court system is the last place a patient or client wants to be. Their voice is often not heard and this may be an option that has not been previously explored or is overlooked due to lack of insight or availability of persons with such training.
